Fancy Awesome

What I did

Fancy Awesome is an Austin-based e-commerce agency. I worked with them as a development partner while I was at Bizeebay. They owned the client relationship and the marketing, I built the storefronts.

The two builds I am known for there are Bond Hair Bar and Simply Hay: totally custom-coded Shopify themes, written from scratch rather than bought and bent into shape.

The part that mattered was that they stayed editable. A hand-coded theme is easy to make fast and easy to make rigid. The trick is keeping every section, block and setting exposed in the Shopify customiser, so the client can run their own store without calling a developer.
